Ramble On...
Grammer

Last night I posted an ad on some classified sites, trying to get rid of some old closet doors that’s been kicking around my house for a while.

Within 15 minutes I received my first response.

The email asked me a question… without using a question mark, or capital letters.  They also threw in an abbreviated “u” for good measure.  I ignored the bad grammar, and the fact that it was a silly question, and replied to the message as if a regular person had written it.

I had completely forgotten about this obscene use of the English language until this morning, when I noticed 3 more responses in my email:

Extra points goes to #4 for the use of “were”.  I’m no grammer nazi, but I assumed the average person in market for used closet doors was over the age of 7.

Is this a case of the regular local classifieds visitor, or the average hotmail user?
